In the Autumn 2006 issue of interactive educator (pdf), Wesley Fryer covers the pros and cons of both blogging and podcasting to help you decide if they are right for you and your students. His list of pros and cons include:
Pros
- safe content safely accessed
- inexpensive to create
- easy to keep parents informed
- easy for students to create
- fun
Cons
- takes time to create (taking time from other activities)
- needs more tech support
- potentially disruptive technology
